When I was young, I would find patterns and images in textured carpets, tiles, furniture, and in all types of materials. I still do this today, except now I apply it to my painting process. I pour, paint, sand, scrape, and tear up the background to make textures. Whatever those textures remind me of is the subject that I paint on them.
